Displaying kids art....

3.27.2008

A bit back Lori from Camp Creek Blog did a post on displaying your kids artwork. I walked around the house and took some pictures on how we display the girls artwork around here. I thought I would share a bit of this and ask all of you how you display art around your house.

The traditional bulletin board. I think they need some editing or maybe a bigger board.

bulletin boards

The I found this laying on the floor, table desk, bed, etc. and stick it where I can display.

My creation

The thought out spray painted frames that hang as a gallery in the kitchen. There are also a few shelves to display sculptures.

This is in serious need of a bit of redo and more frames.

And really I think this is my favorite.

The "those white walls and trim are really the perfect canvas and I must make some art right now" displays.

My creation

I really should clean those up or paint or doing something but really they bring a smile to my face every time I see them.

My guy is shy with art but the sculptures he has made we have hung up (his room, at his request :) I also put a sweet tiny cartoon illustration he made of a cat, up onto the fridge, my favourite art spot, which also holds scraps of paper I like, postcards that appeal, recipes, photographs and domestic ephemera; a constantly changing mini gallery space. Marytree, may I ask you what is the stunningly lovely colour on the wall in your kitchen? (where all the girls lovely art is hung in frames) - I am hoping to redecorate one room this Summer (living room) and this colour is just what I have been looking for : ) I hope you don't mind my asking. Thanks for all your lovely posts which never fail to make me smile!

I love the art work on the walls. Wall artwork by my daughter is how I learned she could write her name. I wanted to get on to her, but was so proud at how well she wrote name!
My favorite way to show everyone my kids art is they draw a christmas picture and I take the picture to Kinko's and make it into a christmas card.

I love the framed art collage you have! We do the wire across a wall and clip art with clothes pins. I also scan some of their favorites throughout the year and put it in a shutterfly memory book I give them every year for their birthday.

I love the idea of scanning the art and making a memory book. My girls would love that.

Leave the art work a little longer, it is so sweet.

I love it when my kids write their name when the choose to doodle on the trim or the table or some other piece of valuable wood surface. Makes finding the culprit so easy, and makes me laugh at their naivete.

i love how you have art all over your house! :^)

i love those first two shots of the amorphous shape of saved things that just keeps growing - i can never identify with neat pinboards that only have one layer! lol
